Day Lily Farm

A few weeks ago we took a trip out to a day lily farm in Benton, about 30 minutes from our home. It was great! There were rows and rows of gigantic gorgeous lilies in the back of this couple's house that was high above the rolling hills. The view was wonderful. There were about a dozen or so different varieties. We selected two that are different from any of the ones we currently have. We picked late-bloomers since it's hard to have colorful perennials late in the summer. The woman dug us up a root ball of each - they were huge! - and each one was only $8. Trafton played in the grass with Daniel as I was trying to decide which varieties to buy. All the rain has really helped them and they still look great even though they are done blooming now.

The two plants took up the whole back of our car!
