Last weekend my brother, Jason, came to visit and our good friend Scott came to town as well. We had a great time relaxing together! The Myers family even stopped in on their way to Selinsgrove from their home in New Jersey to say hi for a bit on Saturday - it was great to have so many visitors in one weekend!

Bassinet

Trafton has finally transitioned into his crib and completely out of our room in the bassinet. We were actually going to give it a couple of more weeks until the weather was a little cooler, then we wouldn't have to use the monitor, we could just keep our doors open. But, the little bambino just got too big. One night I awoke to loud thumping - I actually thought he was going to tip over! He moves around a lot in his sleep and he just wasn't able to stretch out.

This particular bassinet has a wonderful history that I feel we were fortunate to be a part of. Here is the history - which I hope is accurate! The bassinet belongs to friends Brad and Lori who used it for their son Aidan. They passed it to Kristin and Jay for their son Caden. It was then sent to Marisa and Stan for their daughter Annalise. From there, it was returned to Brad and Lori for their daughter Lily. It then went back to Kristin and Jay for their daughter Abigail. They brought it to us when Abby was one month old this past Memorial Day weekend and we have had it since. Since we are through with it - maybe it will go to Tara and Greg next?
Thanks Brad and Lori for sharing your wonderful bassinet and letting us be a part of its journey. It has served us well!

Here are some pictures of Trafton sleeping in it. It is white with a blue ribbon that can be interchanged with a pink ribbon - perefctly versatile!

NY Road Trip!

This past Friday, we took a road trip to Cortland, NY to watch the morning practice of the New York Jets. It was way more exciting than I actually thought it would be! Then we wound our way home via the backroads of New York and Pennsylvania, stopping in quaint little Ithaca for a stroll. We awoke before dawn and hit the road before 5 a.m. to make the 8 a.m. practice. We arrived just in time and Trafton was a terrific road-trippin' baby. He sleeps very well in the car. I carried him around attached to me so that he got a break from his infant seat since we spent about seven hours in the car that day. He fussed minimally at the training camp and was pretty happy throughout the whole day. It was beautiful weather - in the high 60s during the practice and sunny all day.

As soon as we got off the at the Cortland exit, there were tons of signs all over the town.

Trafton and I headed back to the car once for a diaper change. Here he is relaxing in the passenger seat as I get ready to change him. The practice fields were quite a walk away, so luckily we got a ride on a golf cart both ways :)

Ithaca has an area called the Commons, which is an old main street that has been revitalized and filled in with sidewalks. Cars can no longer drive this area, so it makes for a great place to walk and shop. It reminded me a lot of Pearl Street in Boulder, CO.

Taking a break to change Trafton's diaper and stretch our legs. We were home shortly before nightfall. It was a fabulous day!

O'Hare Family Party

On August 1st, my parents had a party for both my mom's side of the family and my dad's side of the family to meet Trafton. It was a really gorgeous day at Centennial Park in Maryland near the area where I grew up. We rented a great pavillion that overlooked the lake and the rain never came!

Beyer Family Party

On July 24th, the Beyers had a party to celebrate Mike and Courtney's beautiful new home, Courtney's birthday, and Trafton's arrival. It was a hot day, but they have a pool and a beautiful shade tree on the gorgeous property, so all was well.

Books!!!!

I just love reading to Trafton - it is one of my favorite things to do with him. We have storytime every morning and every evening and sometimes in the afternoon, too! Lately I have been complaining to Daniel that we need to go shopping for more books, since I am getting tired of reading the same ones over and over again.

Then, last week, I received a phone call from Nancy saying that she wanted to stop by and bring a gift from the book club that I am a part of - the Bloomsburg Bookworms. Guess what the gift was?! Here is a picture of the thirty books that were purchased as a welcoming gift to Trafton. I was so shocked and excited! We have only worked our way through about half of them so far - it has been so super fun! There are short ones and long ones and ones with really great amazing pictures, there are funny ones and sweet ones and classic ones, oh - it has been wonderful! Thanks ladies!!
(Unfortunately I have been having much formatting trouble with pictures on here - no matter what I did, this still came out turned sideways)
