Hike to the Haystacks

This weekend was absolutely gorgeous! It was in the high seventies with tons of sun - what a welcome feeling after so much rain! We went to the homecoming parade on Saturday and on Sunday we went hiking on the Loyalsock Trail. We did about a five mile loop down to the Haystacks area on the Loyalsock Creek. It was the longest we have walked with Trafton in the big external frame carrier. Both Daniel and Trafton did great with it!

Descending - Trafton kept himself occupied by looking all around and by playing with various types of leaves I picked up and gave him.

Almost there!

Daniel was tired of me snapping pictures, but I can't help myself - they just look so cute together!

Snack time - we walked down on the rocks right into the water and Trafton had some crackers. I took his shoes and socks off since it was so hot and he got a kick out of that.

Trafton enjoyed himself so much!

Hanging out on the rocks

He waded into the creek, but it was pretty cold.

Up above the creek, Trafton played for quite a while, finding sticks and leaves and rocks and just getting all kinds of dirty.

He was pretty pleased with the large stick he found.

Hiking out - Trafton started to get a little fussy, but pulled it together each time we told him to stop (whew!) He was so tired out - he completely skipped his nap during the hike!
