Carpet (finally!)

We are so excited to finally have carpet in our downstairs room! We ripped up the carpet two years ago when we were expecting Trafton and were redoing the downstairs room, the stairs, the upstairs hallway, and the nursery. All projects were completed and carpeted except for this room because we decided to wait until we could afford something really nice. That time finally came!!

The painted subfloor that has been exposed for almost exactly two years now

Final moments on the yucky wood floor

Yay - it arrived! It only took the two installers from Garvey's about an hour and 45 minutes to do the whole job. It's hard to tell in the pictures but the carpet is a greenish-brownish color that looks awesome with our paint and curtains and pictures. It really ties the room together, I think. It's a low-profile blend of open and closed looped carpet with a super nice pad underneath.

You can kind of see the coloring here, but it's still hard to tell. They did a really super job making it look like they picked up the radiator and carpeted underneath of it. You can't even tell they just went around the legs of it. There isn't any padding underneath of it so it is kind of recessed looking. It looks fantastic!

We have been playing on the carpet a whole bunch. Our favoite things to do on it are cuddle, wrestle and practice tumbling. Trafton is working on a somersault, which he finds super fun!

Time to put the furniture back . . .

  1. Looks great! Isn't it funny how excited we get over things like carpet (it was a screen door for us)?
