8 Months Old

Today Trafton is eight months old! He is moving more than ever, still perfecting the perfect backside scoot. He pulled himself up to standing once a couple of weeks ago while he was in a sitting position in his crib by using the crib bumper. He still can't get himself to a sitting position on his own, but we lowered the crib anyway! He can hold himself in a standing position as long as he has something to hold on to. He is continuing to do well at daycare and he is hungrier than ever! He is such a good eater - eating every new food I give him like it's his favorite. I still think he loves avocadoes and bananas the best, although not at the same time. Unfortunately he's been sick for about a three weeks now. He's got a runny nose, a pretty ugly cough, and is sneezing quite a bit. I've been sick in these last six weeks more than ever myself - must be Trafton going to daycare and me with my not-used-to-being-surrounded-by-seventh-graders-all-day-long weakened immune system suddenly being back at work. Trafton is maintaining a pretty pleasant disposition, although at night he wakes up coughing a couple of times and then cries until he can get himself back to sleep.

My little cutie!

Now that Trafton is sitting so well, sometimes I just plop him on our bed while I get ready for work in morning instead of always putting him in the exersaucer.

Hanging with Pappy

Karen came over to babysit last week so Daniel and I could get out for a couple of hours. It was so fun! We went to one of our favorite places - wing night at the Cracker Barrel pub in Catawissa. That used to be a monthly ritual for us before the bambino came along! Trafton did so well for Karen and when we got home he was sleeping so sweetly on her shoulder :)

Sometimes Trafton hangs out on the guest room bed with Daniel after I leave for work since Daniel takes him to daycare a little while after I have to be at work.

Such a happy guy!

Here he is standing at the musical table we got him for Christmas. He really enjoys playing with everything and/or he just likes being able to hold onto something just the right size for him to stand.

Even though we were rooting for them, the Jets just didn't make it to the Superbowl this year.

One of Trafton's favorite positions - Daddy's shoulders!

Snow Day!

Since I have gone back to work at the beginning of January, we have had four snow days. Not that I am complaining - I love the days off and I am more than happy to stay home and play with Trafton all day :) On this last snow day, last Wednesday, it was more of an ice day, but we still got out in the backyard for a few minutes.

Trafton has always had the philosophy of the less clothes, the better, so he really hated getting all bundled up like this. Though, once he got outside he was fine.

Squirming with daddy

Trafton is sitting really well now. Although, it was tricky to get him to sit in our hilly backyard since the snow was so hard with a layer of ice on top. Being all of twenty pounds, he didn't really sink into the snow.

Okay mama, I think I am ready to go inside now.
